Our Level 2 newborn specialty care nursery has a 1 to 1 ratio while our intermediate care babies have a 1 to 3 nursing ratio. Our LDRP unit also offers post operative care for complex GYN and Breast surgical needs. This specialty area has a 100-member team has cross trained to offer best in class healthcare to Charlottesville, VA and surrounding areas. Low Intervention Maternity service line:
The platform currently has approximately 100 employees across various clinical and support roles. Our RN retention rate is 98% We boast an NTSV CS rate of 18%, the lowest in the Sentara system and an exclusive breastfeeding rate of 85%, the highest in the Sentara system. We are growing, with a new Sentara OBGYN practice opened in downtown Charlottesville fall 2023. We are in the process of recruiting additional providers for that practice, to include midwives, and also in the process of transitioning to a pediatric hospitalist model for our nursery services.
