Summary of Job Duties:The Sam M. Walton College of Business has openings for part-time temporary adjunct lecturers to teach undergraduate courses. Applying for a part-time adjunct lecturer position allows department chairs from across the College to access candidate materials when a teaching need arises throughout the current or future academic year.

The Department of Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Venture Innovation (SEVI) is a relatively new and growing part of Walton College. We offer a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, a Master of Science in Product Innovation focused on product management, and a Ph.D. in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship.

SEVI students ultimately benefit because department faculty collaborate with many small and growing businesses headquartered in Northwest Arkansas.

Duties and Responsibilities include providing quality teaching for assigned courses. Quality teaching includes clear course objectives, prepared and relevant class activities, effective and understandable presentations of learning materials, fair and understandable grading practices, timely responses to students, and a positive atmosphere in the classroom. Instruction may include face-to-face instruction, online instruction, or other blended methods. Providing office hours for students as prescribed by the department chair and providing grading feedback to students in a timely manner and turn in grades by departmental and university deadlines.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Regular on-campus availability and in-person teaching are essential functions and required for faculty members. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A master's degree in a relevant field

  • Evidence of high-quality instruction/training (e.g., guest speaker, keynote speaker, workshop leader)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous face-to-face teaching experience in higher education (i.e., official instructor of record)
