Technician I - Preventative Maintenance

Performs and provides guidance in the implementation of the districts preventative maintenance program. Responsible for carrying out all assigned duties to ensure that all City Schools facilities are kept in a condition of operating excellence.


Essential Functions



  • Cleans and performs basic preventive maintenance and minor repairs on unit ventilators, and air handling units.
  • Assists Stationary Engineer(s) with maintenance and operations of building equipment.
  • Performs upkeep of boilers and mechanical rooms.
  • Maintains simple record of daily operations.
  • Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school board polices and the professional standards.

  • Completion of sixth grade or higher. High School diploma preferred.
  • Ability to maintain records.
  • Ability to read and write.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
