You Are:

You are a highly skilled R&D Engineer with extensive experience in FPGA prototyping and high-speed interface technologies. You thrive in a collaborative environment and have a passion for innovation and problem-solving. With a strong background in FPGA IP development, you are proficient in RTL coding and possess a deep understanding of board design challenges. Your expertise extends to device driver and application software implementation for embedded processors and desktop/server computers. You are adept at translating high-level application requirements into solution architecture definitions, implementation requirements, and validation plans. You have a proven track record of validating implementations against design requirements for both functionality and performance. Your excellent communication skills and ability to mentor junior engineers make you a valuable asset to any team.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Architect, implement, and integrate high-speed interface IP with required interface PHY device on circuit board to Synopsys FPGA based prototyping hardware platform from system level including hardware, FPGA IP, software, and user application.
  • Define methodology, bring up, debug, and validate interface IP FPGA prototyping implementation and application using simulation and hardware test.
  • Define software application and driver requirements, build required OS environment and boot process in embedded processor and desktop computer/server, implement SW drivers and application software for high-speed interface IPs running in FPGA based prototyping platform on x86, Arm, RISC-V, and Arc processors under Linux, Windows OS, or BareMetal.
  • Document design specification and application note along with example designs.
  • Work with product engineers and field application engineers to guide customer implementation and help resolve customer issues.
  • Collaborate with other teams including cross BU.

  • Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams, driving continuous improvement and innovation within the organization.
What You'll Need:
  • Extensive hands-on experience in design and validation of FPGA IP and hardware for FPGA prototyping.
  • Experience with video interface technologies such as MIPI, DisplayPort, and HDMI, interconnect technologies including chip-to-chip, PCIe/CXL, USB, and Ethernet, and memory technologies such as HBM, DDR, LPDDR, GDDR, flash, etc.
  • Proficiency in FPGA IP development including RTL coding, design debug, and functionality validation from simulation to hardware bring-up.
  • Good understanding of board design challenges and ability to work with board design engineers through the entire implementation process.
  • Proficient in C/C++ coding for Linux kernel driver and application implementation for hardware initialization, configuration, data transfer including DMA and interrupt handling, etc.
  • 10+ years of working experience in FPGA prototyping and high-speed interface required.
  • MS or PhD preferred.
