You Are:

You are a highly skilled and experienced R&D Engineer with a strong background in FPGA prototyping and high-speed interface technologies. You thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment, where you can leverage your expertise to architect, implement, and validate cutting-edge interface IP solutions. Your hands-on experience with FPGA IP development, RTL coding, and hardware bring-up makes you an invaluable asset to any team. With a deep understanding of board design challenges and proficiency in FPGA development tools, you are adept at translating high-level application requirements into robust and efficient solutions. Your ability to debug and troubleshoot complex issues ensures the successful validation and deployment of high-performance designs.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Architecting, implementing, and integrating high-speed interface IP with required interface PHY devices on circuit boards to Synopsys FPGA-based prototyping hardware platforms.
  • Defining methodologies, bringing up, debugging, and validating interface IP FPGA prototyping implementations and applications using simulation and hardware tests.
  • Documenting design specifications and application notes along with example designs.
  • Working with product engineers and field application engineers to guide customer implementation and resolve customer issues.
  • Collaborating with other teams, including cross-BU, to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.

What You'll Need:
  • Extensive hands-on experience in the design and validation of FPGA IP and hardware for FPGA prototyping.
  • Experience with video interface technologies such as MIPI, DisplayPort, and HDMI, as well as transceiver-based technologies like PCIe, USB, and Ethernet.
  • Proficiency in translating high-level application requirements into solution architecture definitions, implementation requirements, and validation plans.
  • Strong debugging skills and experience in defining design validation methodologies and troubleshooting bring-up and customer usage issues.
  • Proficiency in FPGA IP development, including RTL coding, design debug, and functionality validation from simulation to hardware bring-up.
  • Good understanding of board design challenges and hands-on experience in hardware board design is a plus.
  • Experienced user of FPGA development tools, including Synopsys Synplify and ProtoCompiler, Xilinx Vivado, and/or Intel/Altera FPGA tools.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as script languages and C programming.
  • 8+ years of working experience in FPGA prototyping and high-speed interface required.
  • MS or PhD preferred.
