DECISION
MAKING:
The postdoc will design and carry out experiments, in particular regeneration of maize plants from tissue culture, and maize transformation of embryos and leaves. Constant troubleshooting and optimization of protocols is expected.
SCOPE &
IMPACT:
The position involves complex experimental research on protein-
DNA interaction, promoting plant regeneration, requiring technical expertise and independent problem-solving. The scope includes the specific project, collaboration with other labs involved in the
NSF-funded project, mentoring undergraduates, contributions to outreach activities, and contributing to publications, conferences, and future grant proposals. |

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
The candidate must have a PhD degree in Genetics, Molecular Biology, or a related field by the position's start date. Experience in molecular cloning, plant tissue culture, confocal microscopy, protein expression and characterization, and protein-
DNA interactions. The candidate should be highly motivated, organized, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. |
