Job Description

The preferred location is Dallas, TX but would consider someone in the Austin or San Antonio, TX area.

Your new role

As our new Consultant, M&A Environmental Due Diligence and Compliance, you will practice in our Dallas, Texas office and have some familiarity with the metropolitan areas in Texas. Your demonstrated ability to prepare clear written assessments and reports summarizing site conditions will support our national and multi-national clients at their facilities or target facilities primarily Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Apply knowledge of Phase I ESAs using the ASTM Standard (ASTM E1527-21) and adapt for property transactions (i.e. mergers and acquisitions, sale, lease exits, and vendor due diligence).
  • Interactions and communications with clients, agency, and the public may include formulating conclusions and opinions for sustainable site solutions regarding property development or re-development.
  • Evaluation of environmental data that will include historical aerial photographs, online database research, historical property ownership, soil and groundwater investigations and contamination determinations, laboratory data, tables, figures, and technical reports.
  • Prepare written reports to summarize findings to include the mechanics of document development and management to add appendices and update/edit table of contents.
  • Apply knowledge of state, federal, and local environmental laws, programs, and regulations to project assessments, with particular emphasis on the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality rules/regulations (including TRRP) and Regulatory Guidance documents.

About you

  • B.S. and/ or M.S. in Engineering, Geosciences, Environmental Science, Environmental, Chemical Engineering, Biology or related discipline, with ESG, Sustainability, or Climate Resiliency focus a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in environmental due diligence, Phase I ESAs and regulatory compliance and applicability assessment under state and federally regulated environmental programs.
  • EIT/GIT or other applicable license (or eligibility/interest to obtain) and 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations certificate preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, active listener. Demonstrated writing ability and application of engineering/scientific concepts to evaluate and solve real estate transactional problems and formulate conclusions and opinions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Access
