Join the Gilbane Accounting Team in Atlanta, GA as we grow our portfolio of work across the Southeast!

We are seeking an Accounting Manager to lead all financial administration and fiscal management of a business unit and communicates any potential profitability or risk to the business unit Controller, while overseeing Accounting staff. This role will sit primarily in the office, but travel to the project job sites meeting with the project teams and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

    Oversee the monthly close cycle and improve/enhance the current process
  • Prepare complicated cost reports
  • Review operational and construction budgets and analyze variances against budget and prior months' costs at a high level
  • Ensure that all financial transactions and reports are compliant with US GAAP and proper accounting for foreign currency transactions
  • Ensure compliance with Internal Controls
  • Audit and review contracts of all subcontractors
  • Report to internal management and to the owner on financial updates
  • Update, produce and analyze reports
  • Manage the information flow from all systems to ensure accurate report production
  • Manage monthly close cycle for several entities
  • Assist the Controller
  • Supervise staff and personally assume responsibility for the following tasks: Maintain trade contracts


Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • BS in Accounting or Finance; advanced degree preferred
  • 10 years of financial management experience, preferably in the field of construction
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Proficient in CMiC
