Job Description

The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for directing and administering all related functions concerning agronomic practices, golf course maintenance and conditioning, and overall management of operations relating to the golf course.



Responsibilities

    Create, implement, and execute a global maintenance plan and budget for the golf course operation
  • Coordinate and oversee all golf course construction and renovation projects
  • Develop a long-term property improvement plan (PIP) to include a forecast of all capital requirements of the course, equipment, and maintenance facility
  • Oversee the procurement, maintenance, operation, and utilization of all maintenance equipment and supplies
  • Supervise, train and inspect golf course maintenance staff in performing complex cultural tasks including fertilization, pesticide applications, mowing, aerifying, topdressing, irrigation repairs and irrigation computer programming and all other golf course maintenance procedures.
  • Maintains accurate records pertaining to employees, chemicals, fertilization, accidents and any other record keeping requirements.
  • Oversee the process of interviewing, hiring, counseling, training, and disciplining all golf course maintenance associates in coordination with Human Resources
  • Protect the company's interest by an awareness of and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including property and company policies
  • Work closely with the Director of Golf to coordinate course scheduling and utilization along with the implementation of cultural programs that have a guest impact
  • Attend staff meetings, manager meetings, and meet with members as required


Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Agronomy, Turf Management, or related field of study; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven history of exceptional golf course conditioning and presentation
  • Coordination and skill set in conducting golf championships
  • Understanding of budget management, forecasting and expense tracking
  • Wetland and native grass management
  • Understanding of budget management, forecasting and expense tracking
  • Knowledge in maintaining complete records for all maintenance procedures

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to sustain long periods of standing.
  • Must be able to withstand long periods of stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be capable of working outdoors in inclement weather conditions.

Salary: $95k. The pay scale provided is a range that Omni Hotels & Resorts reasonably expects to pay. Actual compensation offered may fluctuate based on a candidate's qualifications and/or experience.
