Mental Health Tech (MHT) Opportunity

Cumberland Hall Hospital is a 97 bed, licensed, acute psychiatric hospital located in beautiful Hopkinsville, KY. Cumberland Hall features individual units for youth, adults and active duty military, and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. On average over 1500 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Cumberland Hall Hospital.

Job Duties to include:

  • Must possess demonstrated leadership ability, the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups and individuals, strong oral and written communication skills.
  • The MHT must possess knowledge of therapeutic relationships as relates to adolescents, therapeutic processes, adolescent growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management of aggressive behavior and BLS American Heart.
  • The MHT have near visual acuity necessary for evaluating patients and reading charts. Eye/hand coordination and finger dexterity essential for manual charting. The ability to talk and hear is necessary for conversing with and assessing patients. The MHT must have the ability to stand/walk for long periods of time.

Qualifications

MHT Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates or Bachelors Degree in a human service related field preferred.

Experience: Two years experience working with people in group situations with individuals who have mental health or developmental problems preferred. One year employment with facility required to serve as a mentor.

Licenses/Certificates: N/A

Must be 21 years of age or older.
