Responsibilities

Gulfport Behavioral Health System (a UHS facility):

Located on the beautiful MS Gulf Coast Gulfport Behavioral Health System is a 90-bed psychiatric hospital offering child, adolescent, adult, substance abuse, and military service behavioral health programs and treatment services. The hospital offers inpatient and outpatient services for those seeking treatment for mental illness.

Position Summary:

Join a team where the Outpatient Program Therapist plans, provides, coordinates, documents, and evaluates direct and indirect social services to adult and adolescent IOP/PHP patients in accordance with established methods and procedures of the hospital. Will conduct individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, case management, treatment planning, rounding with clinical staff, discharge/care planning and follow-up, and resource development/assistance. This is a PRN position that may include weekends, weekdays or evenings.


Qualifications

Education: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field.

Experience: Preferably a minimum of two (2) years' experience and in a psychiatric health care facility or outpatient setting, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; must have strong clinical assessment skills.

License: LCSW, LMSW or LPC license to practice in the State of Mississippi preferred.

Additional Requirements: CPR certification and CPI certification (management of aggressive behavior training) within 90 days of employment prior to assisting in a restraining procedure. Training may be obtained during new hire orientation.
