Position description

The Department of Physics at the University of California, Santa Barbara, invites applications for a pool of qualified lecturers to teach courses in general Physics or Astronomy. Applications will be kept active for consideration for all appropriate vacancies within the department. Positions may range from part-time to full-time.

Main duties will include teaching courses in general Physics and Astronomy, with the possibility of occasional upper-division teaching opportunities.

The University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service as appropriate to the position.

The position will remain open until March 31, 2025. The pool will close at that time; if you would like to continue to be considered after that time, and the pooled position is advertised again, you will need to submit a new application. Appointments for the Fall quarter are usually reviewed in August, the Winter quarter in October, and the Spring quarter review will begin in February.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

MA in Physics, Astronomy or related field at the time of application.

Teaching experience at the college level
