The Financial Performance Analyst 2 - Finance/Cost Accounting works with the Financial Performance Analytics team on routine reports and ad-hoc projects spanning across service lines and divisions. Assists with a broad range of financial and analytical functions, including but not limited to: process improvement and efficiency opportunities, financial performance trend analysis (simple to moderate), data gathering, data validation, report development and testing, reviews processes and maintains data integrity of selected sources and applications.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Collaborates with operational service line leaders, Finance, Information Technology, Analytics and other departments on routine and ad-hoc projects.
  • Generates all routine financial reports and ensures timely and accurate delivery.
  • Identifies areas of opportunities and proposing recommendations for improvement and efficiency on routine processes
  • Analyzes simple- to moderate-sized data sources containing financial data, costs, revenue trends, and performance metrics.
  • Develops and tests reports and analyses from various sources (e.g. financial ERP, electronic health records, benchmark tools).
  • Provides guidance on the interpretation of raw data, statistical results, or otherwise compiled information.
  • Reviews processes and projects to ensure proper data definitions are defined and data integrity is upheld throughout all reports and dashboards.
  • Works with Data Management & Business Intelligence team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Experience: 2 years in Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Business, Statistics, related field or equivalent operational experience
  • Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • Previous Ambulatory or Physician Enterprise Finance experience
    • Novice level financial analysis skills
    • Novice level analytical skills, with basic- to intermediate knowledge in data visualization tools (Power BI) and Microsoft Excel.
    • Basic- to intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access, EPIC cubes, Power BI)
    • Novice level skills in reporting denials and write-offs, compiling information to do deep dives, research accounts for possible root cause
