Medica's Strategic HR Business Partner serves as a trusted advisor to business leadership regarding people, organizational, cultural, and capability implications of business strategy. In addition, our Strategic HR Business Partner will effectively influence and lead organizational change initiatives.

This role is responsible for aligning 'people' strategies to business and growth strategies, partnering with business leaders and HR Centers of Excellence. The incumbent will be able to identify capability gaps in current workforce and set strategy to help address business needs.

Key Accountabilities:



  • Working with senior leaders to develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with overall business strategy
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior management on talent and organizational matters
  • Develop and leverage business knowledge to provide consultation and guidance to executives and directors concerning business, talent, and operational decisions
  • Coach and challenge leaders to develop and enhance their personal leadership style and performance to improve business results
  • Partner and collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) to ensure business strategies are supported by the appropriate HR programs, practices, and services needed to provide competitive advantage
  • Facilitates annual talent management, performance management and compensation activities in partnership with senior leaders and in partnership with HR COEs
  • Lead organizational change initiatives and provide support and guidance on workforce planning and other organizational design activities
  • Conduct organizational assessments and recommend solutions to enhance effectiveness and employee engagement
  • Diagnose, design, implement, and assess change management strategies and plans in support of overall organizational development initiatives
  • Identify people side risks and anticipated points of resistance
  • Conduct readiness assessments, evaluate results, and present findings to stakeholders
  • Provide significant input in the development of communication plans, stakeholder assessments, and training plans; administer measurements systems to track adoption, utilization, and proficiency of changes


As a change leader, this role will have the opportunity to create and implement effective strategies to ensure smooth transitions to new processes, models and structures and partner with our HR teams as needed. Our Strategic HR Business Partners also proactively assesses data, identify trends, operational gaps, and areas of opportunity, and provide actionable insight to business leaders.

Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources (HR) including a minimum of 6 years working as an HR Business Partner
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with an ability to lead through influence; management experience strongly preferred
  • Background in organization design and change management required
  • Experience working effectively in a fast paced, accountable, growth oriented business environment
  • Experience in successfully designing and implementing 'people' strategies to ensure that the organization, capabilities and culture ALL assist in driving business results
  • Proven success influencing and driving results by matching people expertise, strategic input and professional insight
  • Track record of strengthening senior leadership teams by providing coaching and counsel to senior executives to further develop their leadership skills

  • Expert business knowledge with comprehensive understanding of functional areas and organization
  • Advanced leadership skills with ability to resolve critical issues and contribute to organizational development


This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work from the designated office, Minnetonka, on average, 2+ times per week.

The full salary range for this position is $108,400 - $185,900. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data.
