Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Senior Manager, Accounts Receivable and Credit to be based out of our Harvey, IL location. Reporting to the Vice President, Treasury and Investor Relations, the Senior Manager will lead and manage day-to-day activities for Atkore's North American Accounts Receivable department which covers +$450M of the Company's consolidated balances.

What you'll do:



  • Lead a team of four professional covering cash collections, credit analysis and payment deductions for our two domestic business units
  • Assess and support decisions to establish credit, limit credit or remove credit for new and existing customers
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support collection efforts
  • Establish and lead weekly Key Performance Indicator ("KPIs") results for the department
  • Provide recommendations for establishing and releasing reserves for bad debts
  • Direct initiatives to improve working capital
  • Drive and manage the Deduction team with resolution, identifying trends and root cause analysis
  • Perform monthly close activity
  • Prepare required reporting for the Company's Asset Based Lending ("ABL") requirements
  • Serve as he control owner for various control objectives to support our internal control compliance


What you'll bring:



  • Bachelor's degree, preferable in a business concentration
  • Minimum 5-10 years' experience in accounts receivable credit and collections management or related function
  • Experience managing a diverse team of backgrounds and skill sets
  • High level of Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Experience working in with ERP platforms such as JD Edwards or SAP
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Within 3 months, you'll:



  • Complete your Atkore immersion program.
  • Understand what's required to manage day-to-day activities
  • Perform month-end close responsibilities and distribute information
  • Build a relationship with your team
  • Gain an understanding of your role, the broader Finance organization, and the organization you support.


Within 6-months, you'll:



  • Develop reports to assist in goal analysis and monthly performance
  • Perform asset based lending submissions to the bank
  • Update and review deduction generation reporting
  • Assist treasury and accounts payable with segregation of duty items
  • Hold monthly performance meetings with direct reports
  • Establish strong working relationships with the leadership team you support as well as build rapport with employees


Within 12-months, you'll:



  • Participate and assist with special projects including potential integrations of new companies onto the JD Edwards platform
  • Review and complete yearly performance reviews
  • Revisit KPIs and establish corrective actions for underperformance
  • Be proficient in the applicable JD Edwards modules
  • Conduct year-end performance reviews and talent development conversations with your with your direct reports
