Position Summary

The Coordinator of Academics provides the Department of Biology with administrative and operational support. This position assists with HR administration including student job posting, hiring, separations, and work study changes. This position will also assist the HR Representative with staff hires and personnel transactions as needed. The Coordinator will also complete payroll entry and serves as primary time-keeper in the department, ensuring the accuracy and retention of those records in compliance with UNM policies.

Acts as the department's primary point of liaison for students with the Student Employment Office. Handles communications with Payroll, HR, and Student Employment for staff and students. Directly oversees and coordinates Course Scheduling each semester and is the manager of all conference room/classroom reservations.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in related field
  • Demonstrated experience working in UNM recruitment and hiring processes for staff
    and students
  • Experience with UNMJobs2.0
  • Demonstrated experience with UNM Banner, EPAF's, EPANs, and other related actions
  • Experience entering payroll
  • Ability to work in a highly active work environment collaborating with staff, students,
    and faculty supervisors and hiring officers
