Position Summary The Cognitive Development & Neuroimaging Laboratory (CDNL), also known as the Marsh Lab, in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, conducts research projects that focus on understanding the neurodevelopmental trajectories of psychiatric disorders that arise during childhood and adolescence. The CDNL uses multimodal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to study the functioning and structure of neural circuits that support the capacity to self-regulate one's thoughts, actions, and urges, and the circuits that support learning and memory. The CDNL is seeking a research assistant to help facilitate a clinical trial examining the use of a cognitive control training program for children (ages 8-12) with obsessive-compulsive disorder. They will support Principal Investigators, Drs. Rachel Marsh, Kate Fitzgerald, and David Pagliaccio, and the research team in the successful implementation of clinical research activities. The incumbent will support recruitment activities, collect behavioral and MRI data, track participant flow, and assist with study-related administrative activity and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities 20% - Assist with setting up experiments and support brain imaging data acquisition, while ensuring standard procedures for the protocol and maintaining clinical sensitivity to comfort levels/needs of child participants. 20% - Support participant recruitment and study day coordination. 15% - Elicit information from participants to assess participants' eligibility to a clinical trial through a structured screening interview. 15% - Manage and monitor the database, utilizing various data acquisition software and statistical packages. 10% - Ordering and maintaining inventory of laboratory and clinical trial's supplies. 10% - Enforce safety regulations and compliance with IRB requirements, while providing quality control and assisting with amendments to IRB. 5% - Assist in the lead and training of undergrad students. 5% - Performs other related duties & responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field and at least one and one-half years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Science. Experience with recruiting research participants, coordinating with families and clinical supervisor, and collecting behavioral and/or clinical data. Experience in supporting recruitment efforts for a research project. Experience in collecting neuroimaging data working for MRI studies. Fluency in Spanish. Other Requirements Experience in a research lab. Experience working with children. Applicants must be proficient with standard productivity software (Microsoft Office, email, calendars, etc). The ideal candidate must be able to work independently, be self-motivated, and positively contribute to labs aims and objectives. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
