Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital (OMH) Birthing Center is a Level 1 community hospital unit with 12 LDRP's. The unit cares for a variety of populations, including Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, GYN, Pediatrics, and transitional newborn care in our Special Care Nursery. We see approximately 900 patients annually. In additional to providing specialty services for women and children of all ages, the department also provides other services, such as, but not limited to, lactation and resolve through sharing (RTS) perinatal loss support. OMH Birthing Center has over 30 staff members working as Registered Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and Health Unit Clerks.

Hours: Cross campus leadership coverage within LDRP. Scheduled days at each campus. Does require leadership availability during off hours to assist and guide staff in emergencies.

2-3 years minimal experience in a related department. Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards.

What You Will Do:

Operates at the department level and is responsible for day to day operations of the department.

Other responsibilities include:



  • Demonstrate the defined ProHealth Care Leadership Attributes. Provide leadership in accordance with the outlined behaviors to achieve service excellence, organizational goals, values, regulatory compliance and fiscal responsibility.
  • Provides support and feedback to the department Manager regarding recommendations for capital, operating and staffing budgets. Supports fiscal oversight of allocated resources, assets and expenses. Makes necessary decisions to adjust for variations in projected budget income caused by fluctuating volumes and other external forces.
  • With manager oversight; provide Human Resources leadership to direct reports through effective hiring, orientation, training, mentoring and coaching. Provide ongoing recognition, feedback and development, holding staff accountable for success. Ensure appropriate resources are provided to staff. Develop a staffing plan that meets both customer expectations and financial constraints. Create an environment where Employee engagement feedback facilitates positive change.
  • Performs the duties of a registered nursing in accordance with nursing code of ethics, the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Wisconsin, ProHealth Care Nursing policies and procedures.


What You Will Need:



  • Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Charge Nurs/Team Lead role. CNIII or within 12 months of hire
