Job Overview
As the Manufacturing Engineering & Maintenance Supervisor, you will supervise a Manufacturing Engineering/Maintenance team who supports the engineering and production of our manufactured products. In addition to leading the manufacturing team, this role will oversee all maintenance operations and provide daily direction to our maintenance team.
A Day In The Life
- Provide daily leadership to team to ensure all safety, quality, delivery, and cost reduction initiatives are being executed and goals are being met
- Lead and prioritize manufacturing & facility improvements
- Ensure team members are conducting work in accordance with the governing quality manual, work instructions, procedures and standard work processes
- Promote and lead by example in the participation of "My Ideas", Coach, Problem Solving, Lean and other continuous improvement processes/initiatives applying these principles within the team to drive out waste and reduce costs
- Lead team A3 strategic goals related to Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Cap Ex
- Identify and implement cost reduction strategies
- Research and provide justification for new capital equipment
- Develop direct reports, onboard new team members, daily, weekly, and yearly coaching of employees to build an actively engaged workforce.
- Work closely with production, design, and project management leaders to ensure alignment on projects and priorities
- Track and report out on department KPI's
- Lead maintenance personnel and facilitate the resolution of issues impacting safety and production
- Effectively supervise the Maintenance & Manufacturing Engineering teams to meet strategic goals and targets
- Maintain and develop maintenance records, including but not limited to: downtime, preventative maintenance, activity logs, and asset lists
What will help you thrive in this role?
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent in education with experience
- Increasingly responsible experience in engineering or operations management position within a similar industry.
- Industrial equipment maintenance experience including electrical, hydraulics, compressors, pneumatics, boilers, etc.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, shop drawings, and sketches would be helpful
- Ability to effectively interface with internal and external customers and suppliers
- An Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Processes would be helpful
- Capital equipment analysis and justification skills
- Ability to teach others as we strive to grow basic technical skills and preventive maintenance responsibilities in our core operations
- Possess a demonstrated value for safety and willingness to participate in world class safety programs
