Job Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Assistant Director of Financial Aid, Client Services Supervisor, the Enrollment Information Clerk Senior serves as the primary receptionist for the Office of Undergraduate Financial Aid, routing calls and walk-in traffic to the appropriate person or department. Advises students and parents within the parameters of a paraprofessional.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Manages all incoming office contacts via telephone and walk-in, referring to appropriate offices and counselors as needed. Performs varied secretarial and clerical functions requiring knowledge of office routines, department activities, and the procedures relating to the operation of the office. Maintains welcoming reception area.
- Provides information and advice to students and parents regarding financial aid procedures. References student application materials respond to specific inquiries of individual situations; assists in understanding financial award notices and University invoices.
- Opens, sorts, and routes mail, handles routine requests independently. Prepares outgoing mail.
- Maintains confidential records, files, and materials. Assumes responsibility for maintaining records using spreadsheet or database software. Monitors office traffic volume through spreadsheets and charts. Prepares and types reports, forms, and materials.
- Assists with publications. Writes and edits external communications. Monitors communications, including the office website, for accuracy and consistency. Maintains calendar of office publications.
- Works with staff to maintain office supplies inventories and orders as needed.
- Provides training and supervision to staff designated to perform similar duties, such as nonexempt staff providing back-up for position, as well as work-study students and temporary personnel.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma, secretarial training or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired. At least one year experience in an administrative support position.

- Strong computer skills, especially with word processing and spreadsheets;

- Ability to effectively perform duties and responsibilities;
- Ability to maintain an environment of professionalism and confidentiality;
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and oral interpersonal communication skills;
- Ability to lift and carry 10 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree;
- Prior experience as a receptionist, especially in a higher education setting;
- Experience with multiple software programs.

Target hiring range for this position will be between $19.30-$21.30 per hour. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
