Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Warehouse Coordinator to be based out of Kent, WA. This person will be responsible for checking in drivers in and out as to make sure dock doors are being turned every hour and manages yard flow to ensure drivers come in and out in a safe manner.

The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience in transportation environment. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.

What you'll do:




  • Plans hour-by-hour schedule of all Inbound/Outbound traffic



  • Updates Warehouse Supervisor and Lead of any late or early arrivals



  • Adjust hour-by-hour schedule so as to not have downtime and fills empty slots when available



  • Communicates with carriers and brokers to get updated ETA of scheduled loads



  • Checks drivers in and out as to make sure dock doors are being turned every hour



  • Manages Yard flow to assure drivers come in and out and a safe manner



  • Monitor progress of major shipments to ensure timely execution to promise dates



  • Ensure the distribution team understands and meets Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Innovation goals



  • Prepare and maintain necessary distribution documentation for operations



  • Facilitate team involvement and commitment to resolving storage, transportation, invoicing and shipping issues



  • Ensure policies and procedures are in place to drive effective receipt, handling, storage and distribution of product



  • Review and recommend improvements for existing distribution policies and procedures on a routine basis



  • Schedule and assign distribution center teams with an emphasis on teamwork, "lean" concepts and continuous improvements



  • Utilize the shipping schedule to maintain a flexible and effective dock schedule by communicating appointments



  • Track performance for and work with carriers to make certain required service levels are met



  • Work with cross-functional teams to facilitate resolution for both internal and external issues



  • Flex into other support roles as needed to ensure the efficient operation of the business



  • Proactively supports lean efforts by promoting and/or teaching lean concepts to others



  • Leads team in implementing lean concepts, ensure follow through on actions and ensures KPIs are posted and up to date



  • Participate in 5S + Safety auditing



  • Demonstrate professional behavior, good business judgment, and strong team interaction skills



  • Encourages and is receptive to suggestions and new ideas. Recommends new techniques, systems, and procedures



  • Provides clear, concise instructions. Assists in resolving technical issues



  • Guides team members in decision-making process



  • Assist in determining the skill level of each team member and coordinates training to increase team members' job knowledge and skillset



  • Provides input on reviews, development plans, and goal setting



  • Assists with follow-up to ensure that development goals are achieved




What you'll bring:




  • 3 - 5 years of experience of distribution coordinator experience, preferably in a distribution center or understanding of internal processes



  • Knowledge of distribution center management in areas such as bulk and pick pack



  • Knowledge of LTL, TL, and containerized shipments



  • Strong communication and organization skills



  • Six Sigma/Lean experience strongly preferred



  • Strong understanding of metrics used to assist management in warehouse environment


  • Strong Office 360 skills

  • Detailed oriented



  • Customer focused

Salary range : $46,720 - $58,400
