Responsibilities

  • Performs occupational therapy assessment procedures utilizing techniques consistent with the patient's diagnosis. Develops individualized treatment plan based on evaluation findings.
  • Provides detailed and concise documentation of evaluation, treatment, interim reports, and discharge evaluations within departmental timelines. Provides all necessary documentation required for on-going patient care.

  • Participates in mentoring and training of clinical support staff, new professional staff, and students/volunteers in the aspects of patient care.

  • Participates in the development and implementation of departmental performance improvement.

  • Participates in the development and implementation of clinical program development.

  • Responsible for completing basic occupational therapy competencies in addition to departmental specific competencies.

  • Meets productivity expectations for level of care and FTE status.
  • Utilizes support staff and resources as per general guidance of departmental guidelines.

  • Takes ownership of assignments; other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Communicates and listens effectively with internal and external customers; effectively understands instructions and shares knowledge.

  • Cooperates and interacts with supervisors, peers, other departments, and all customer groups demonstrating our commitment to "service".


Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
  • Current Licensure or licensure eligible in Occupational Therapy in State of NM
  • Current CPR
  • Ability to communicate effectively and finish tasks in a timely manner
  • Ability to follow oral and written instruction and established procedures

Preferred Job Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
  • One (1) year experience in job-related environment
