Position Summary:


The Mechanic 2 is responsible for the preventative and standard maintenance of all mechanical equipment and their associated systems at Carle. Other duties may include but are not limited to. Moving furniture and light carpenter duties, hanging shelves, pictures etc. Assists Facilities Mechanics III, IV and Lead as directed.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
2 years of related work or education in a related field

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Understands how a wide variety of mechanical and electrical components function. Ability to operate equipment and the ability to function as a member of a team. Able to install/maintain plumbing systems and associated systems. Able to work on a variety of hospital equipment including medical air equipment. Ability to read blueprints. Familiarity with basic building, state, accessibility and ADA code requirements.


Essential Functions:

  • Performs all essential job functions of Maintenance Mechanic I.
  • Identifies and corrects equipment malfunction in emergency situations, power failure, water leaks, etc.
  • Identifies and corrects mechanical and minor electrical deficiencies. Detects structural, general carpentry, and roofing problems and either corrects or has corrected by proper trades.
  • Conducts mechanical, and to some degree electrical, preventative maintenance checks
  • Perform assigned preventative maintenance.
  • Coordinates and plans relocation of personnel, furniture and equipment.
  • Installs furniture, cabinetry and some light carpentry
