The Miller Center of Public Affairs, a nonpartisan affiliate of the University of Virginia, seeks an Audiovisual Editor to help produce and promote its public affairs programming. The Audiovisual Editor will join a team of communications professionals, playing a key role in producing, recording, and livestreaming about 40 events per year. These responsibilities include editing content for distribution across web, mobile, and social media platforms, which generate more than one million views annually. During live events, the Audiovisual Editor will manage audio levels and ensure quality streaming and recording. The Audiovisual Editor will then edit and produce video content for the Miller Center's website and social media and also create longer-form videos from other Center programs. Occasional work outside regular business hours may be required. This role is essential in helping the Miller Center deliver critical insights on presidential scholarship, public policy, and political history to audiences nationwide and globally. Responsibilities Post-Produce for distribution (55%)
Produce and record live programming (35%)
Maintain Up-to-Date Editing Techniques and Technologies (5%)

Salary Range The anticipated salary range for this position is $43,000 - $53,000, depending on qualifications. Organizational Background Established in 1975 through a generous gift from entrepreneur and philanthropist Burkett Miller, the Miller Center of Public Affairs specializes in presidential scholarship, public policy, and political history. It strives to apply the lessons of history and civil discourse to the nation's most pressing contemporary governance challenges. Physical Demands The job requires extensive use of computers, including repetitive motion required in editing and sitting for sustained periods of time editing at a computer. The job works with audiovisual, lighting, and related equipment, some of which requires climbing ladders or scaffolding to adjust. The job requires the ability to move or lift items weighing 25 pounds or more, such as speakers. The job occasionally requires travel. Additional Position Information This is a restricted position which extends through June 13, 2027. Renewal is possible, subject to performance, availability of funds, and need.
