Job Description

The Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering at the University of Missouri invites applications for a position in Manufacturing Systems and Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the Assistant Professor level. Applicants should have a demonstrated potential in manufacturing systems in one of the following focus areas: 1) Industrial Internet of Things / Industry 4.0, 2) Machine learning and AI-based cyber-physical systems, 3) Real-time sensing, analytics, and process control for smart manufacturing, 4) Robotics/automation/human-robot interaction; or 5) Bio-manufacturing; all focused on improving the design and operation of future manufacturing systems. Successful candidates will be expected to be leaders in their field, have a sustainable externally funded research program or demonstrated ability, and be capable of successfully mentoring graduate students and developing undergraduate and/or graduate courses in these areas.

Qualifications

Applicants should have an earned doctorate in industrial engineering or a related field by start of their appointment.
Candidates will be evaluated on strong written and oral communication skills, and a publication record in nationally recognized journals.
