Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Administrative Nurse, the Medical Assistant (MA) is guided by the policies and procedures of the Ambulatory Services. S/he performs assigned patient care directed toward positive patient satisfaction outcomes. Job duties include but are not limited to check in and vitalization of patients, collecting patient information as directed by a healthcare provider, coordinates clinic flow to ensure maximum efficiency for the health care provider, assists providers with procedures as indicated, transports patients, maintains clean and safe patient care environment, demonstrates good internal and external customer service skills, supports fellow nursing staff and clinic providers as needed, ensures proper and accurate documentation of patient/provider communication, participates in quality assurance, quality control and quality improvement projects, maintains clinical logs (ie: POCT logs), participates in medical record audits, is able to utilize Cadence to book patient appointments.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $32.86 - $41.01 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications

1. Certification from an approved Medical Assistant program; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
2. Experience working with Oncology patients
3. One year of experience as a Medical Assistant/Hospital Assistant in a medical practice.
4. Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
5. Current American Heart Association CPR Certification.
