POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting in coordinating, managing, planning, supporting, and administering all clinical, academic, and research activities related to educational programs in the Department of Surgery. Position: Department of Surgery- Medical Student Coordinator Department: General Surgery Schedule: Full Time ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES: Responsible for assisting in coordinating, managing, planning, supporting, and administering all clinical, academic, and research activities related to educational programs in the Department of Surgery. Coordinates and facilitates sessions with the medical students, residents and fellows Develops new curricular material, especially web-based interactive modules Creates an educational website updating/archiving the departmental correlation conferences Tabulates student clerkship evaluations for final grading Distributes evaluative summary feedback to faculty and residents Assist the educational program manager with logistics of the educational activities for medical students, residents and fellows. Enhance the orientation material provided to students on the first day Help develop a Course Info site for student use Proctors the final examination for clerkship students per NBME standards Assist with individual student evaluations/clerkship evaluations/grading of students Utilizes hospital's Values as the basis for decision-making and to facilitate the division's hospital mission. Follows established hospital infection control and safety procedures. Coordinates and tracks workflow, schedules, projects and committee decisions. Provides follow up as necessary. Establishes and maintains files according to records management specifications. Performs other related duties as assigned or as necessary. (ex. databases maintenance, scheduling departmental conferences) Assists during annual recruitment season of residents and fellows. Must adhere to all of BMC's RESPECT behavioral standards. JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: Associates Degree required CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: None EXPERIENCE: Two to three years of related experience. Experience with MS Office (Excel).
