The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $375,000. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan Application Window Open date: October 11, 2024 Next review date: Friday, Nov 22, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Monday, Jun 30, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Department of Neurology, University of California at Davis, School of Medicine is recruiting a full-time Child Neurologist to join our growing Child Neurology section. The position is offered in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) or Clinical Neurology series at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank commensurate with experience. The primary responsibilities of the position include inpatient and outpatient care; teaching medical students, residents, and fellows; developing research and creative work; and providing University and public service. The candidate will share in the call responsibilities of the inpatient consultation service. The candidate will join four Child Neurologists, five Pediatric Epileptologists, and two Nurse Practitioners in delivering care at UC Davis Children's Hospital and a state-of-the-art outpatient clinic. UC Davis Health serves an expansive catchment area in northern California to the Oregon and Nevada borders through the Children's Hospital and a well-established telemedicine program. The UC Davis Children's Hospital has a 13-bed pediatric emergency department, 49-bed nationally-ranked Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) averaging more than 500 admissions per year, 24-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit/Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PICU/PCICU) averaging more than 1,600 admissions annually, 48-bed Pediatrics floor, and 6 operating rooms in the Children's Surgery Center. The Child Neurology Residency Program began in July 2023, with its inaugural class of trainees beginning neurology rotations in 2025. The UC Davis Department of Neurology and UC Davis Health teaching hospital are nationally ranked in US News & World Report. The department continues to expand with over 80 clinical faculty across all neurological specialties with excellent nursing, staff, neuropsychology, social work, and pharmacological support.
