Job Description:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or relevant field of study required
  • CPA license a plus

Work Experiences:

  • 5+ years of experience in general accounting
  • Knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles and Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX)
  • Experience utilizing ERP accounting systems required
  • Monthly financials analysis experience required
  • Inventory accounting experience required
  • Transportation accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of Accounts Payable processes
  • Retail industry experience a plus

  • Ability to work well under pressure while consistently meeting time-sensitive deadlines
  • Analytical with strong problem-solving abilities and creative resolution skills
  • Ability to remain organized, pay attention to detail, and meet critical deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to interface effectively with individuals at various levels
  • Ability to prioritize workload, and meet multiple deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Advanced Excel skills

Responsibilities:

  • Timely completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities and journal entries
  • Month-end variance analysis, reporting, and account reconciliations
  • Support process improvement and maintain accounting controls and recommend/document policies and procedures in accordance with SOX requirements
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business partners
  • Support external and internal auditors as needed
  • Ensure integrity of results reported and confidentiality thereof
  • Update process narratives annually through collaboration with business partners to ensure proper documentation of all significant processes
  • Special projects and participation in various initiatives
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Academy policies, procedures, and safety rules
  • Duties may change and additional duties may be required over time

  • Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures, and rules governing professional staff behavior
  • Regular attendance required
