This opportunity is located within our EnviroLogix business that develops and manufactures testing solutions for detecting GMOs, mycotoxins, plant pathogens, natural toxins and chemical contaminants in multiple agricultural matrices.

Job Description

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer Internto join our 2025 summer internship program in Portland, ME.

The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will help to increase manufacturing efficiency by supporting production processes and equipment, evaluating materials, and driving continuous improvement throughout the facility.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the identification and implementation of continuous improvements in costs through waste reduction, production efficiency and operations improvement in all related manufacturing processes

  • Providing engineering support to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems

  • Analyzing and improving manufacturing process to achieve continuous flow and a pull system

  • Using the ERP system to develop, evaluate, improve, and document manufacturing processes (Methods of Manufacturing, Bill of Materials, Bill of Operations)

  • Evaluating processes for effects on safety, quality, cost, throughput, and capacity

  • Interacting with cross-functional teams for new product development

Requirements:

  • Pursuing an engineering degree in a relevant field (Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechanical)

  • High proficiency in computer technology and systems operations such as Microsoft Office

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologies is preferred

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
