* Base Pay Range: $16.68 - $26.31/hour based on experience

* Shift Differentials: Additional $1.25 per hour for an Evening shift and $1.50 per hour for Weekend shifts

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

Prepare, dispense, and distribute medications. Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and other pharmacy employees.

Provide on-the-job training to new personnel and assist in evaluating the progress of new employees.

Receive prescriptions, complete data entry of prescription orders in the pharmacy dispensing software and adjudicate third-party insurance claims.

Prepare and label prescriptions consistent with state and federal labeling guidelines.

Conduct point-of-sale transactions that require proper cash handling, offer patient counseling, and comply with all out-window procedures for patient safety.

Answer telephones and handle calls that do not require the personal attention of a pharmacist, including taking verbal prescription orders from doctor's offices or clinics and completing incoming and outgoing prescription transfers.

Deliver quality customer service in all interactions with patients. May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

One (1) year of pharmacy experience. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and may require ambulating, remaining in a stationary position and positioning self to reach and/or move objects above the shoulders and below the knees. The employee may frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 lbs and occasionally move objects up to 25 lbs. This role may also routinely come into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses.
