DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

As part of a triad leadership model of operational/administrative, nursing, and physician leadership serves as the operational leader for the ambulatory locations of patient care operations.

Establishes and develops effective working relationships with community partners, MU Health Care staff, and University of Missouri System Leaders to affect change for successful operations.

Directs and coordinates daily operations for operational teams supporting ambulatory care, including but not limited to facilities management, support services, service lines, and ancillary services. Develops relationships with system leaders in the matrixed model to ensure alignment with organizational priorities and representation of Ambulatory market needs.

Participates in the development of and implements operational strategies to achieve MU Health Care objectives, ensuring alignment with the larger hospital network's goals and policies.

Manages and allocates resources effectively, including delegated duties of budgetary oversight, to optimize operational efficiencies.

Collaborates with department heads to ensure adequate staffing levels and resource utilization in line with demands.

Ensures that the facility complies with regulatory standards, accreditation standards, and best practices in healthcare.

Participates in the implementation of and monitors quality assurance programs to uphold the highest standards of patient care and safety. Monitors vendor performance and ensures adherence to agreed-upon service levels as appropriate.

Assists with the development and maintenance of emergency response plans, coordinating with relevant departments to ensure the hospital's readiness for emergencies and disasters.

Fosters a culture of teamwork, open communication, and collaboration among staff and departments.

Acts as a liaison between ambulatory and central hospital administration, facilitating information flow and problem-solving.

Identifies areas for operational improvement and implements process enhancements to streamline workflows and enhance overall efficiency.

Analyzes data and performance metrics to make data-driven decisions.

Establishes and develops effective working relationships with community partners, MU Health Care staff, and University of Missouri System Leaders to affect change for successful operations.

Effectively manages organizational change through a well-communicated vision and mission, as well as clear and articulate assignments and expectations of others.

Maintains accessibility and visibility to all customers, including patients, physicians, and employees. May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The employee may be required ambulate, remain in a stationary position and position self to reach and/or move objects above the shoulders and below the knees. The employee may be required to move objects up to 10 lbs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in health administration, business administration, nursing, medicine, pharmacy, laboratory science, or a related area. Ten (10) years of experience in an operational role in a healthcare setting. Experience leading complex projects and teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in a clinic or a hospital setting.

Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
