Construction Inspector II

Position Overview:

The primary function of this role will be to assist with the monitoring and inspection of water and sewer main installation and sanitary sewer rehabilitation, including lining, joint sealing and manhole rehabilitation. We are seeking experience of 5-years to senior construction inspectors in the municipal water and/or sewer field.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform inspection services for oversight of the MDC's & Middletown's selected contractors.
• On a weekly basis, provide GPS locational services for water and sewer infrastructure in the area of work.
• Support project activities by performing calculations, measurements, documentation, and other technical and engineering-related functions.
• Perform verification or acceptance testing of construction materials in the field or at the laboratory.
• Correspond with impacted stakeholders.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction inspection.
• Certifications such as ConnDOT, NICET, etc. preferred.
• A valid drivers' license.
• Ability to understand and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
• Maintain a positive attitude and work ethic within a group dynamic.
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and written.
• Be flexible in work assignments, workdays, and hours.
• Work effectively with office staff, client representatives and contractors.
• Work safely in traffic and/or on construction sites.
• Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time and operating assigned office and/or field equipment.
