Title: Estimating Intern
Department: Estimating
Reports To: Chief Estimator or Assigned Mentor
Job summary
The main responsibility of the Estimating Intern is to support and assist the Estimating staff on daily tasks and responsibilities of the department as well as special assignments. Training will be provided to perform the requested job functions. At the conclusion of the internship, the Estimating Intern will make a presentation to management describing the experience, related project tasks and overall learning experience.
Summary of essential job functions
1. Prepare quantity take-off's with Onscreen. Take-off's shall be organized and named according to
the Estimating Department's Electronic File Storage Guidelines document.
2. Obtain subcontractor and vendor quotations for Bids, GMP's, and Estimates. Communications
shall be courteous, professional, and done in a manner that will permit the building of a positive
relationship with the other party.
3. Level subcontractor proposals for assigned trades. Leveling shall be done using the master project
scope sheet template distributed by the Lead Estimator. Scope sheets shall be completed and
subcontractor quotations shall be marked up in accordance with Estimating Department's
procedures.
4. Store and name all electronic documents, regardless of level of completion, according to the
Estimating Department's electronic file storage guidelines document. Maintain all working
documents and data to back-up estimate figures.
5. Digitize Bid Results and Subcontractor Quotations for historical data. Digitized data shall be
named and stored in accordance with the department Historical Data filing system.
6. Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
Minimum requirements
* Must be enrolled in an accredited Undergraduate College or University with a sophomore status or junior status
* Must be a construction management, engineering or related major
* Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Excel and Word
* Ability to work as a team member and to manage competing priorities in fast paced environment
- Available to work M-F from 8am - 5pm
****Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.

Salary Range:

$20/hr
