Public Utilities Director, Cranberry Township, Butler County, PA (pop 33,955). Located just 20 miles north of Pittsburgh, Cranberry Township has transformed from a rural agricultural community to a commercial and business hub and sought-after residential area over the past three decades. Spanning over 23 square miles, the Township's growth is expected to continue for at least the next 20 years. The Township seeks its next Utilities Director. The Utilities Director will manage a department structured into three divisions - Sewer and Water Field Operations, Solid Waste, and Wastewater Treatment Plant. The Director will oversee a staff of 28 FTE's and a combined $27.8 M annual budget. The Township maintains an aggressive capital improvement program. The Director reports to the Assistant Township Manager, COO. The Township seeks a high-energy, organized, proactive public utilities professional to direct a broad range of services. The ideal candidate will be an innovative, collaborative thinker ready to be an integral member of the senior management team. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering or public administration. Over 10 years of experience in utility operations. At least three years in a supervisory capacity. History of successful strategic planning. Critical thinking skills. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree. PE (Professional Engineer) License. Experience managing in a union environment. Extensive knowledge of utility operations management. The Township offers a comprehensive and competitive salary and benefit package including a starting salary range of $110,000 - $125,000 +/- DOQ.
