Job Title: Glass Draw Tower Operator

Job Type: Contract to Hire


Job Summary:

The Glass Draw Tower Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring the draw tower process in the production of glass fibers. This role involves setting up machinery, maintaining precise control of the draw process, and ensuring the production of high-quality glass fibers to meet company standards. The ideal candidate should have strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, and experience in a manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor the glass draw tower equipment, ensuring proper settings and adjustments are maintained throughout production.
  • Set up machinery and make adjustments to control the diameter and quality of glass fibers.
  • Inspect glass fibers for defects and ensure they meet product specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of production data, including process parameters and material usage.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of draw tower equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Work closely with quality control teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues with fiber quality.
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with other team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency.


Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably with experience in glass or fiber production.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
