Responsibilities

  • A Trauma Registered Nurse with demonstrated interest, education, and experience in trauma care and who, in partnership with the Trauma Coordinator, Trauma Medical Director (TMD), Director of Emergency and Trauma Services, is responsible for coordination of trauma care.
  • Coordination will include active participation in the trauma performance improvement program, the authority to positively impact trauma care of trauma patients in all areas of the hospital, and targeted prevention and education activities for the public and health care professionals.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School (or GED equivalent) diploma.
  • Current Texas RN license.
  • Basic Life Support Certification.
  • ACLS.
  • PALS or ENPC.
  • TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) or ATCN (Advanced Trauma Course for Nurses).

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing School.
  • BSN degree.
  • CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse).
  • TOPIC (Trauma Outcomes & Performance Improvement Course).
  • ATS (American Trauma Society) membership.
  • 1-3 years clinical Emergency, Critical care or Trauma Services.
  • Charge/ supervisor experience is a plus.
