Get to Know Your Team:

  • Lovelace Medical Center is an acute care hospital with 263 licensed beds, providing comprehensive care, including around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, non-invasive robotic spine surgery, stroke care, radiology and oncology services.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, develops and implements the LMC Stroke Program. Collaborates with ED, stroke team, physicians and all clinicians throughout the continuum of care to assess and analyze outcome data and promote quality stroke outcomes.
  • Facilitates nursing and ancillary department education regarding stroke.
  • Assists with education at community level including but not limited to external hospitals, EMS and referring physicians.
  • Works with medical staff on stroke order set and protocol development within hospital.
  • Acts as the management representative for DNV-GL Stroke Center certification with responsibility for ensuring the requirements of the stroke management system are implemented and maintained at LMC.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or to be currently enrolled in a BSN program.
  • Valid NM Nursing license or NM compact license (within 90 days of hire) ,
  • BLS,
  • ACLS
  • Five (5) years relevant experience of which three (3) years must have been in ER, ICU, or a dedicated NEURO unit. Relevant education and/or experience may be substituted in accordance to policy.
  • To obtain SCRN within 18 months of hire date. To maintain NIHSS certification during term of employment.
