Summary of Position
Keene State College invites applications for a Coordinator of Student Organizations & Leadership to provide overall management and oversight for the Student Organization, Student Activities and Leadership, and Fraternity and Sorority Life Programs.

Under the supervision, guidance, and in collaboration with the Director of Student Involvement, the Coordinator of Student Organizations & Leadership will contribute to the overall Student Involvement Program on campus through departmental programs, activities, student advising, and student supervision.
The Coordinator also supervises student staff in support of programming and marketing efforts and works in tandem with colleagues in both Student Involvement programs and operations and advises key student organizations that are responsible for executing major events, governance, or who carry high levels of risk to the College.

  • Master's degree and at least 2 years of related experience in student affairs/activities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of student development theory
  • Experience advising student-run organizations
  • Successful experience leading programs for college students
  • Demonstrated knowledge of program assessment and use of learning outcomes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, etc.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in advising fraternities/sororities/governing boards
  • Experience as a student leader in a recognized student organization as an undergraduate student
  • Experience as a member of a fraternity/sorority as an undergraduate student
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of student organization management platforms, software, and frequently used tools for student groups

Student Organization Program

Assist the Director with overall management and vision for the Student Organization Program

Coordinate the daily functions of the Student Organization Program

Create policies, procedures, and resources related to the overall Student Organization Program

Assist the Director in responsibly maintaining the Student Center budget designated for the Student Organization and Student Activities Program

Manage Club Hub office suite, including the allocation of office spaces

Enhance, coordinate and facilitate the Student Organization Advisor program including recruitment of faculty and staff to serve as organization advisors, designing and delivering required and/or requested training, providing resources and support, recognition, and evaluation
Collaborate with campus staff/faculty to provide training for student organizations on necessary topics covering basic skills relevant to student organization operations (including but not limited to budget maintenance, policies, procedures, and facilitating meetings)
Assess programs on a regular basis and make decisions about the future of programs based upon information gathered in assessments, evaluate processes, make recommendations for improvement
Complete Student Organization executive board GPA and conduct checks
Negotiate agreements for performers and services related to student organizations and/or Student Involvement programs
Assist in officer growth and leadership development
Ensure adherence to Student Center and College policies and processes


Duty/Responsibility
Student Activities Program

In collaboration with members of the Student Involvement Team, plan, execute, and support key student programs including but not limited to ongoing student leadership development programming, major Student Center traditional programs, and student activities
Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate student staff who work in support of the Student Activities Program
Serve as a professional staff member on-call for major Student Involvement programs as needed
Negotiate and review performance agreements and supplemental contracts for events
Serve as advisor to Social Activities Council programming board
Provide general guidance and support for student-run programming board with a mission to host a wide variety of social events for students
Attend executive board, general member, and presidential meetings
Attend major events and programs hosted by the programming board as needed
Provide oversight for student programming board expenses, assisting in interpretation and upholding College and Student Center policies
Assist students in the creation and facilitation of executive board training at least two times per year, and transition resources between academic years


Duty/Responsibility
Fraternity and Sorority Life

Coordinate Fraternity and Sorority Life Program
Serve as a support to the Fraternity/Sorority Governing Boards and advise at least one of the governing councils (Interfraternity Council or Panhellenic Council)
Coordinate Fraternity and Sorority Accreditation Program, which includes creating training opportunities for organizational development, membership growth, and leadership development
Collaborate with Student Involvement team members and campus staff/faculty to provide risk prevention trainings for fraternity and sorority members on necessary topics covering risk prevention (including but not limited to the prevention of hazing, alcohol and other drug use, and sexual violence)
Provide general oversight and management for all chapters and major activities (recruitment, Greek Week, etc.)
Act as the campus liaison to inter/national headquarters offices, the National Panhellenic Conference ( NPC) and North American Interfraternity Conference ( NIC)
Serve as liaison with Dean of Students, Office of Community Standards, Keene Police Department, Campus Safety, Community Living, and other relevant campus departments
Provide opportunities for training and member growth and leadership development
Provide regular and timely training, resources, and support to campus chapter advisors, including regular meetings each semester
Complete semesterly Fraternity and Sorority Life roster verification and community report processes
Complete GPA and conduct checks for potential new members
Serve as advisor to Order of Omega Greek Honor Society
Ensure adherence to Student Center and College policies and processes, as well as local, state, and federal laws


Duty/Responsibility
Actively participate in and support overall Student Center management and functions

Serve on campus-wide committees in support of the student experience and relevant to Student Center

Attend and serve as a Student Center representative during major campus events and key College dates (Orientation, Admitted Student Days, Commencement)

Manage aspects of Student Involvement Marketing Efforts (including but not limited to giveaways, social media management, graphic design, website management)
Manage OwlNet Student Organization Management Platform for all student organizations and campus departments
