Responsible for the ongoing support and enhancements of the bank's Model Risk Management program within Corporate Risk Management, where the primary role is to manage risk and uncertainties arising from the use of models, in order to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and bank practices. Incumbent will contribute to managing these risks primarily with respect to Artificial Intelligence (AI) models. These models include both internally developed and models purchased from third parties.

Incumbent will lead, execute, coordinate and enhance various Model Risk Management program components and activities, which may include: requesting due diligence documentation from Model Owners and Model Developers, reviewing and performing initial risk analysis of documentation including coordination among internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) support of the Model Management Lifecycle including development, implementation, validation, and ongoing performance monitoring ,and general administrative tasks. The incumbent will establish cross-functional partnerships with various Business Lines to ensure strong communication and a consistent application of Model Risk Management requirements.

Additionally, incumbent will use a logical, risk-based thought process and experience to perform independent analytics that will assist management with risk identification, reporting and ongoing monitoring of overall risk profiles. Incumbent will stay up-to-date with regulatory guidance and bank initiatives to identify and implement efficiencies and enhancements to the Risk Programs.

As an Artificial Intelligence Governance Analyst, you will:

  • Lead, execute and coordinate second line of defense responsibilities of the AI Model Management Lifecycle including development, implementation, validation and ongoing performance monitoring.
  • Meet with Model Owners and/or Model Developers to support the collection and assessment of documentation and other necessary information.
  • Actively utilize and maintain departmental software systems and applications including SharePoint and Logic Gate for model inventory management.
  • Serve as expert Risk Management liaison to Business Lines as assigned; provide support and guidance on Model Risk Program and Model Lifecycle; analyze opportunities for process improvement and recommend solutions; use risk-based analysis and experience in responding to inquiries of moderate to high risk and complexity.
  • Facilitate and coordinate Board and Committee materials, and presentations for Committee, and Board meetings.
  • Participate with corporate governance committees/forums/working groups on behalf of the Risk Management function.

Education

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience emphasis in Business, Risk, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Applied Economics, Accounting, or Data Science. Required
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Emphasis in Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Applied Economics, or Data Science; Experience in risk management, compliance, or other analytical functions. Preferred

Experience

  • 1-2 years with responsibilities related to performing analysis; familiarity with general risk management concepts and the regulatory environment; exposure to banking products. Required
  • 1-3 years Financial services industry with exposure to risk management concepts and the regulatory environment; understanding of banking products. Preferred
  • Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence techniques. Preferred
