Position Highlights:
Interprets physician orders in relation to the patient's oncologic diagnosis, prescribed treatment, age group and makes appropriate interventions as needed to assure safe and effective drug therapy. Enters or verifies medication orders into the computer, admixes or dispenses medication (including chemo) for patients as prescribed by the physician, and practices and promotes the concept of patient-focused care. Participates in Drug Utilization Evaluations (DUEs), drug review, education, patient monitoring, Quality Assurance (QA) programs and drug information activities of the oncology pharmacy.
