The TECO Energy Internship & Cooperative Education Program offers college degree-seeking students the opportunity for professional growth while meeting the business needs of the company. The program is an extension of the educational process, providing practical experience to complement formal classroom work. The co-op program recruits students from colleges to give them an opportunity to work in a professional environment related to their field of study.

Position Summary/Details:

This position provides support for the Grid Operations Next-Day Operations/Outage Coordination Engineers, Energy System Operators and the Grid Operations Supervisor for the iTOA software. This position is responsible for updating the fields in the iTOA (integrated Total Outage Application) software and testing the next software version of iTOA, as well as assisting in in-house application development.

Accountabilities:



  • Update the fields within the iTOA (integrated Total Outage Application) software.
  • Test the next software version of iTOA and push to Production.
  • Build vendor relations to communicate user needs
  • Document changes
  • Assist in application development



Physical Location of Co-op: Energy Control Center 820 South 78th St. Tampa, FL. 33619

Working Conditions: Mostly in a normal office environment

Preferred Availability: Full-time (40 hours), Part - Time (30 - 40 hours) or Part - Time (20-30 hours)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

The successful applicant should be enrolled in an accredited university as a college undergraduate or a graduate level post-secondary educational program in a related discipline.

Co-Op Requirements:



  • To qualifyas a co-op student, enrollment in the university's co-op program (proof of enrollment required); if not eligible for co-op program (or program unavailable), the student will be considered an intern.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required.



Degree: Engineering

Preferred/Related Discipline: Electrical

Year in School: No preference,

  • Knowledge of iTOA software
  • Server and application management
