Position Overview
Primary Purpose of Position |
The primary purpose of this role is to provide student centered teaching in both didactic and clinical instruction of undergraduate level courses. Faculty in this position will provide student advising, student mentoring and recruitment, curriculum development and conducting scholarly activities. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, engaging in accreditation procedures, program assessment and service to the school, College and University as needed. Currently: The primary responsibilities for this position include teaching undergraduate level courses, conducting development, conducting scholarly activities.
This is a 12 month non tenure track position . |
Primary Function of Organizational Unit |
N.C. A&T is a public, land-grant, doctoral research institution and has been the largest historically Black university in the country for the past decade. The School of Nursing is in the College of Health and Human Sciences with a community of scholars in the disciplines of psychology, social work and sociology and human performance and leisure studies. Nursing offers the bachelor's degree in nursing (
BSN) through three entry options: traditional, accelerated second degree and RN completion. We prepare our students to become professional nurses with the knowledge and skills needed to provide quality patient-centered care in a dynamic healthcare environment, assume leadership roles in nursing, and pursue graduate education. Faculty use state-of-the art technology to educate nurses based on current theory, research and evidenced based practice. Our students, whether traditional undergraduates, second degree graduates, or practicing RNs, achieve academic excellence within our small classes with flexible schedules and supportive faculty. |

Three years of clinical experience related to concepts and theories essential in providing nursing care to childbearing families, newborns, and women
Two years experience in nursing education

Must hold a current unrestricted license as a registered nurse in North Carolina or have eligibility to obtain North Carolina Registered Nurse License. If candidate is an Advanced Practice Nurse, must hold national certification. |
