Overview

Shure is looking for a Senior Specialist, New Product Sourcing who will be responsible for leading and supporting the purchasing function in tandem with the R&D department for new product development projects.

Join our dynamic team to support new product development from concept design through to production launch. In this role, you'll establish and manage the supply chain for new product teams, ensuring effective sourcing strategies for each commodity. You'll guarantee material availability for launch activities and seamlessly transition materials into production. Additionally, you'll collaborate on commodity sourcing strategies and effectively communicate product team needs to our commodity teams.

This role will be Hybrid based out of our Niles, IL Corporate HQ.



Responsibilities

    Manages/leads/supports purchasing's role in New Product Development with the R&D department for assigned projects.
  • Implements commodity strategies that align with long-term company objectives for global sourcing.
  • Negotiates with suppliers to meet project target costs.
  • Coordinates material availability for all product development-related activities
  • Ensures supplier readiness, in coordination with the overall project schedule, for new product launch and manages the transfer of new components to the Tactical Purchasing Group after release.
  • Schedules and manages all purchasing meetings and supplier communication for new products.
  • Coordinates and manages the tracking of Phase In/Phase Out programs, in an effort to control obsolescence and ensure new production components are delivered on a timely basis, as needed.
  • Maintains unique parts lists/sourcing matrix for new parts and parts list for obsolete materials.
  • Establishes monitors and reports component costs for new product development teams.
  • Tracks, analyzes, and recommends course of action for cost reduction opportunities in product development activities
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field; professional designations or certifications by recognized Purchasing organizations preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience using skills as a seasoned, experienced professional in Purchasing, and/or Supply Chain, involving the ability to quantify and evaluate manufacturing processes and
  • technologies to ensure cost-effective solutions for purchased components and new product cost parameters
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Experience in working on new product development efforts preferred
  • Has a full understanding of industry practices and/or company policies and procedures
  • Able to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data or situations requires evaluation of identifiable factors
  • Ability to read a blueprint / specifications
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions for difficult assignments and of diverse scope.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Competence with MS Office software
  • Experience using ERP software, SAP preferred
  • Ability to travel as needed (up to 10%), including internationally
