Summary: The Warehouse-Cleaner position is responsible for contributing to the general cleanliness, organization and efficiency of the warehouse office and warehouse department through routine and ad hoc cleaning assignments and 5S Program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This position reports directly to and will receive direction from the Warehouse-Supervisor.

The primary responsibility of Warehouse-Cleaner is to safely and efficiently perform top-quality operational duties on a daily basis which include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Complete daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly cleaning tasks as assigned by Warehouse-Supervisor and or Warehouse-Superintendent
  • Identify housekeeping opportunities for warehouse personnel and communicate to the warehouse leadership team.
  • Participate in Warehouse 5S program to promote efficiency and organization.
  • Complete 5S Audits as assigned and document findings.
  • Uses pallet jack and/or other material handling equipment (such as cart, pallet riders, reach lifts, forklifts etc.) in the execution of duties as needed.
  • Works in a safe and accident-free manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirement listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: High School or equivalent. No experience is required due to extensive on-the-job training (however, general warehouse and forklift experience is preferred).

Language Skills: Must possess average communication skills (both verbal and written) in order to effectively interact with customers, truck drivers, and others in the warehouse. Must be able to read sufficient English to follow written work instructions.

Mathematical Skills: Basic mathematical skills and counting ability required.

Reasoning Ability: A good memory for part numbers and customers' requirements. Ability to sort out several problems at a time. Must be able to relate to all personnel he/she meets. Ability to get along and be able to interface with other LASCO / Westlake associates.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The individual must be able to:1) spend a major part of the working day on their feet and walking, standing, climbing, and/or continuous lifting movement, 2) work irregular and/or extended hours on short notice, 3) must be able to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted and push or pull a pallet jack or platform cart and bend and stoop as needed to complete tasks.
