Tax Supervisor - International

SUMMARY

Under direction of the Assoc. Director Tax, supervise the routine international tax function for the tax department; prepare international tax provisions, review international tax returns, supervise transfer pricing compliance, submit quarterly estimated tax payments, respond to tax notices, and oversee data management and workflow software such as SharePoint. Advise and support Assoc. Director in corporate tax research, planning, and international tax audits.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Under the direction of the Assoc. Director, manage the day-to-day international tax function in support of one or more business segments, including providing timely and accurate tax advice.
  • Assist Assoc. Director Tax in reviewing all foreign income tax returns and preparing return-to-accrual workpapers and adjustments.
  • Assist Assoc. Director in preparing all non-US quarterly and annual ASC 740 income tax provisions using OneSource Tax Provision software.
  • Assist Assoc. Director in leading international tax audits and examinations; including FIN48 analysis.
  • Assist Assoc. Director in the design and implementation of tax strategies and other tax-related initiatives.
  • Assist Assoc. Director in review of foreign tax operations, including local compliance, financial reporting and audit and planning support.
  • Assist Assoc. Director with transfer pricing compliance and documentation.
  • Monitor proposed and enacted U.S. international and foreign tax law reform.
  • Manage foreign SOX documentation.
  • Manage foreign tax compliance calendar.
  • Plan, execute, and deliver compliance workflows using SharePoint or other similar software independently with minimal supervision.
  • Perform technical review and research of complex international tax issues and preparation of compliance memos and summaries.
  • Manage external vendors
  • Mentor, train, and develop one direct report.
  • Assist Assoc. Director in corporate tax research, tax planning and special projects as needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Fully supports company goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence at strategic and tactical levels including reviewing area of responsibility for improvement opportunities to initiate projects or communicate ideas to management as well as active participation on project teams.
  • Responsible for the supervision of one Sr. Tax Analyst
  • Any additional responsibilities or tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from four-year college or university, Masters in Tax preferred.
  • Minimum eight (8) year work experience required including experience with international tax compliance, tax planning and transfer pricing.
  • CPA required.
  • Experience with SAP accounting systems, SharePoint, Power BI, BPC consolidation software, OneSource income tax software helpful.
  • Strong communication skills needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
