The role of the Senior Project Manager is to serve as an ambassador for E2 Optics and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of assigned projects from initiation to closing. The Senior Project Manager supervises and directs project resources to deliver value effectively and consistently to the customer. Responsible and accountable for strategic alignment and the execution of corporate operational processes to drive the timely delivery of safely completed project work that exceeds quality expectations and is compliant with contract documents, schedule, and budget.

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Promote and foster a culture of employee empowerment to proactively prevent hazards in the workplace and enable coworkers to perform their duties in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Manage assigned projects in accordance with schedule that supports favorable performance indexing that meets or exceeds the expectations of the project plan.
  • Effectively manage subcontractor / vendor performance to ensure compliant project delivery.
  • Provide progress updates, reports, and performance metrics per contractual requirements and customer requests.
  • Manage installation strategies to ensure the most effective industry best practices and means and methods are leveraged to complete the project on schedule and within budget.
  • Responsible for ensuring project deliverables are completed timely, efficiently, and correctly.
  • Accountable for the financial performance of assigned projects and expected to manage all costs that ensure favorable earned value performance.
  • Oversees and presents project cost metrics and reports as required or requested in defined timelines.
  • Manages organizational resources to control variables that contribute to project costs such as labor, materials, and equipment packages to comply with project schedules and contract documents.
  • Cultivate and foster positive relationships with teammates, customers, and vendors to maintain, secure and expand business opportunities.
  • Evolve with continuous organizational improvements that sustains business scalability in support of perpetuated best in class services.
  • Develop resource plans and evaluate needs in conjunction with project requirements.
  • Partners with internal and external teams to provide subject matter expertise related to estimating, construction feasibility and value engineering.
  • Embraces and leverages companies' construction technology platforms, automation, and software to drive safety, quality, efficiencies, and cost savings.
  • Fosters an innovative culture across the business to empower employees to seek out unique and applicable solutions for existing challenges that provide opportunities to optimize processes.
  • Encourages and supports continuous improvement activities and Lean initiatives across the site to align with deployed strategic goals.
  • Anchor training programs to effectively develop employees in technical, leadership, safety, quality, lean and cultural disciplines to improve the maturity and performance of the organization.
  • Lead by example and act as a coach and mentor to team members that influence motivates them to promote a Lean culture and develop with emerging technologies.
  • Provide opportunities for technical and development through internal training and industry certification courses.
  • Travel: This position is generally expected to require overnight travel. The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by E2.
  • Additional Responsibilities: As identified and assigned.
Education:
  • BS in Project Management or Construction Management. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Bicsi RCDD, Bicsi RTPM, or PMP preferred.
  • Other BICSI Certifications are a plus (Installer, Technician, etc.)
Experience:
  • Minimum 7-10 years' experience managing structured cabling and integrated systems projects.
  • Extensive experience managing large scale multi-million-dollar project work across different construction vertical markets.
  • Experience managing critical infrastructure data center projects highly preferred.
  • Experienced in the management of multiple contractual types and vehicles - lump sum, cost plus / GMP, unit price, design-build / design-assist, time, and material.
  • Experience managing construction teams of 50-100+ technicians on project sites.
  • Product experience with industry leading manufacturers.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Decision making and judgment: The position involves projects and/or assignments requiring considerable decision-making authority regarding procedures, plans and schedules. Must be proficient in structured problem solving and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to determine best feasible solutions.
  • Deep understanding of industry specific estimating and engineering best practices.
  • Ability to identify change events and implement change management best practices.
  • Knowledge of various construction technology platforms, quality, and safety standards.
  • Solid understanding of construction accounting principles and cost forecasting.
  • Able to report and readout project information to all stakeholders as needed or required.
  • Working knowledge of the PMBOK Guidelines and Standards.
  • Ability to build and develop a project schedule.
  • Advanced project management and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others.
  • Demonstrated coaching, team building and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills, including excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively present to small and large groups.
  • Disciplined, detail oriented, organized, and self-driven.
  • Demonstrated skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex problems, conflicts, and issues.
  • Strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to develop processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Proficient in using a computer and business / industry applications - Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.), Bluebeam, Procore, Primavera, Textura and others.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, bend, rotate, push, pull, reach with hands and arms on intermittent to regular basis daily. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. The employee may be required to work in tight, confided spaces. The employee must demonstrate regular and on-time attendance. There could be a requirement of occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
