Rotating (United States of America) Sentara Health is hiring a Pharmacy Technician for Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA!

$5,000 Sign on Bonus offered to eligible candidate!

Status: Full Time (40 hours)

Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia!

Work hours: Rotating shift 8 hour shifts/40 hours week and will work any of the following shifts per week below including every other full weekend (Saturday AND Sunday):

  • 0730-1600

  • 0600-1430

  • 1230-2100

  • 0630-1500

  • 1100-1930

Will work every other weekend (Sat and Sun) and will be off one day during the week before or after.

Will know schedule approx 2 weeks in advance.

Job responsibilities:

Prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist. Measure, mix, count out, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders. Responsible for managing the drug distribution system and providing technical support in all aspects of the delivery of safe, effective, patient-focused, and cost-efficient drug therapy.

Required qualifications:

  • Virginia Pharmacy Technician license REQUIRED

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1 year Pharmacy Technician experience preferred

  • Prior hospital experience preferred

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board(PTCB) OR NHA Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred
