Title:Assistant Professor of Education Concentration:Early Childhood Division: Provost's Office Department: Pott College of Science, Engineering, & Education FLSA Status:Exempt EEO Job Group:2 C5 Position Summary The Pott College of Science, Engineering, and Education at the University of Southern Indiana invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor of Education with a focus in Early Childhood Education to begin August 2025. Duties/Responsibilities The position will teach courses designed for education majors at the undergraduate and graduate levels; advise students; serve on dissertation committees; engage in service-related activities including participation in departmental, college, and university committees and professional organizations; and initiate research and grant activities leading to scholarly presentations and publications. Although some courses are taught in distance education formats, applicants should expect an on-campus presence throughout their employment term. The faculty member will have the potential to develop a research agenda that leads to scholarly works and the engagement of students. Start-up funds and other financial support are available to initiate a productive research effort. Required Knowledge and Skills A Doctorate in Education with a focus on early childhood or closely related field is required along with a minimum of 3 years of full-time teaching experience in a P-3 classroom setting. Applicants with an ABD status will be considered at the rank of Instructor if a terminal degree is not conferred by hire date.
