Parts Inventory Control Specialist

Parts Inventory Control Specialists oversees inventory operations at their assigned dealership. Under the direction of the Corporate Inventory Control Manager, they will be responsible for keeping the inventory within guidelines and assisting the corporate team with parts auditing practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not in order of priority):



  • Research all inventory adjustments.
  • Review and process parts returns to vendors under the direction of the Corporate Inventory Control Manager.
  • Oversee core returns to endure they are properly handled.
  • Follow Corporate direction in process development to build consistency among the network.
  • Find opportunities to eliminate waste and increase efficiencies throughout the warehouse.
  • Make recommendations for needed process changes within parts inventory.
  • Audit parts locations and parts holding areas as needed.
  • Oversee cycle count process and verify accuracy.
  • Verify bins prior to physical inventory.
  • Assist and audit physical inventory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain regular onsite attendance.


Work Environment:



  • Office and Warehouse environment.
  • Some daytime travel necessary.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.


Physical & Mental Requirements:



  • Ability to regularly lift and /or move up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to make decisions based on logic and company protocol and procedures.
  • Work closely and in cooperation with the Corporate and dealership teams.
  • Ability to concentrate on several issues at the same time.
  • Promote professionalism and pride within the workforce.
  • Ability to frequently use hands to properly examine parts.


Education, Skills & Knowledge Required:



  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • 1 year of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Management systems such as word, outlook, and excel.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.


  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to problem solve in a team environment.
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision daily.
  • Must be detail oriented and stay on task.
